He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London and is also an MSc Graduate from the University of Edinburgh. He is currently reading an MSc in Sports Cardiology with St George's University, working hand in hand with a number of internationally renowned sports cardiologists. He was the lead clinical investigator for BEAT-IT, a national cardiac screening program in Maltese adolescents (athletes and non-athletes).
He has been appointed as the official content reviewer of the 2020 ESC Position Paper on Sports Cardiology on behalf of the Maltese Cardiac Society. He has also recently been appointed as a junior reviewer on the European Heart Journal of Case Reports editorial board. He has presented at a number of local and international conferences and also has a number of papers in international journals.

Dr Lucienne is also very active in the Anti-Doping scene as she is the Chairperson of the Anti-Doping Commission of Malta, and also chairs the Council of Europe Education Advisory Group on Anti-Doping and represents the Maltese government at EU and Council of Europe meetings on anti-doping. She is a firm believer in education as a means of preventing doping among athletes.
She has been an elected Executive Board member of the Maltese Olympic Committee since 2004, and chairs the Women in Sport and Anti-Doping Commissions and previously also the Medical Commission.

Prof Hawkey has advised English Premier League and Championship football teams, Great Britain Gymnastics, GB Judo, and had professional roles at major sporting events, including Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. He regularly appears as a specialist commentator on radio, television and digital media, and has worked on projects with the BBC, Sky, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and recently provided expert commentary on applied technology (including VAR) during the FIFA2018 World Cup.
He also has a long history of working with specialist populations, including military personnel, Antarctic explorers, adventurers and astronauts. A former researcher with NASA’s Biomedical Office at the Kennedy Space Center, where he investigated bone and muscle changes during space flight, his research now focuses on training techniques to improve musculoskeletal health and performance; most recently the efficacy of vibration exercise.

He qualified from Medical University in Gdansk, Poland in 1987. He completed his formal training in anaesthesia in1994 and he held several consultant posts in Poland. He obtained his PhD in medicine in 1996. He moved to the UK in 2005 and he joined Pain Clinic at Stoke Mandeville Hospital (National Spine Injury Centre). In September 2010 he moved to Telford, Shropshire where he was a Clinical Lead for Pain Services at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals NHS Trust until he semi-retired in March 2019.
Dr Kirkor’s special interest is interventional pain medicine, interventional regenerative orthopaedics, spine pain, whiplash injury, Whiplash-Associated Disorders and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
Dr Kirkor is a member of Spine Interventions Society (Membership Committee Member) and Interventional Orthopaedic Foundation. He is an Associate Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetists.
Dr Kirkor teaches on pain management courses and is involved in research project on Platelet Rich Plasma and Pulsed RF for pain management.
Dr Kirkor is an expert witness and his area of expertise is anaesthesia and chronic pain. He is a member of the Expert Witness Institute (MEWI).
In 2018 Dr Kirkor set up the first Regenexx Clinic in the UK (second in Europe) upon completion the extensive training in the Regenexx clinics in USA. The clinic focuses on regenerative medicine (stem cells and platelet rich plasma) for musculoskeletal conditions.

Nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in fitness and sports medicine, Dr. Laskowski studies and promotes best practices for general fitness, injury prevention and injury rehabilitation, strength training, and stability training. Collectively, Dr. Laskowski’ s work has produced several hundred publication credits, including scientific papers, abstracts, books, book reviews, book chapters, and popular media and multimedia. His articles have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Golf Digest, Prevention, Time, Men’s Health, Esquire, and GQ Magazine. He has appeared on the NBC Nightly News, ABC World News Now, Sirius XM radio, and Good Morning America as a trusted voice in sports medicine and fitness. Dr. Laskowski has provided medical services at sports events ranging from high school football to the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Chicago Marathon. From 2006 to 2010, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports; he served under Presidents Bush and Obama, and he received a special commendation from the Department of Human Services for his contributions to the Council. Nicola undertakes research in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. A broadly trained orthopaedic surgeon, his major areas of expertise are knee surgery and foot and ankle surgery.
Nicola has produced major contributions in the physiopathology of tendon ailments and has undertaken a large number of randomised controlled trials in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Given his training, in addition to his specialist interest in Sports Surgery, Prof Maffulli's expertise ranges from exercise physiology, gene expression in musculoskeletal conditions and tissue engineering and mesenchimal stem cell therapy.
Prof Maffulli maintains a Professorship in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London, and a Professorship in Orthopaedics at Keele University School of Medicine.
